As the NASCAR Cup Series holds "Throwback Weekend" at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina, here are the throwback paint schemes that will be run during the Goodyear 400 and what the paint schemes are throwing back to:
Aric Almirola
Almirola's paint scheme will be reminiscent of the one Dale Earnhardt Jr. used for his famous victory in the 2001 Pepsi 400, the first race at Daytona International Speedway since his father's death in that year's Daytona 500.Christopher BellBell will be bringing the colors of Matt Kenseth's DeWalt tools car to which Kenseth drove during his 2003 Winston Cup championship season.
Josh Berry
Ryan BlaneyBlaney will honor his father, Dave, with a paint scheme that resembles the one Dave used for the 1993 World of Outlaws dirt racing season in which Dave won 11 races and featured 2nd in the overall point standings.
Chase BriscoeBriscoe will honor one of his team owners in Tony Stewart with this paint scheme that resembles the one Stewart used when he won the 2000 Turkey Night Grand Prix, a famous midget car race that is run on Thanksgiving night in southern California.
Harrison BurtonBurton will pay tribute to his Hall of Fame father, Jeff, with this paint scheme that closely resembles the one Jeff used for the 1998 + 99 Winston Cup seasons to which Jeff won a total of nine races, including a season sweep of the races at Darlington in 1999.
William ByronByron will be bringing back a paint scheme Jeff Gordon used to celebrate NASCAR's 50th Anniversary back in the 1998 All-Star Race.
Ross ChastainChastain will salute NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett with this paint scheme that Jarrett used from 2001 through 2004 in which Jarrett won seven races.
Ty Dillon
Dillon's paint scheme will throw it back all the way back to 1959 when Jon Lee Johnson used this paint scheme in the 1959 Southern 500.
Chase ElliottElliott will pay tribute to his Hall of Fame father, Bill, with this paint scheme that is almost identical to the one Bill used for the 2001-2003 Winston Cup seasons in which he won four races including the 2002 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Ty GibbsGibbs will honor his grandfather, former Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs, with a paint scheme that Bobby Labonte drove in the 1996 DieHard 500 at Talladega to celebrate Joe's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Todd Gilliland
Gilliand's paint scheme will probably be the favorite of NASCAR Vice President of Competition, Elton Sawyer, as it be reminiscent of the one Sawyer used for the 1998 Xfinity Series season.Noah GragsonGragson's paint scheme will pay tribute to one of the two co-owners of his race team, Legacy Motor Club, as Noah will be driving a paint scheme that is almost identical to the one Jimmie Johnson ran during his victory in the 2014 Coca-Cola 600.
Denny HamlinHamlin will be throwing back only three years to this paint scheme which he drove in the 2020 Southern 500 at Darlington which was a throwback to 1973 when his sponsor Federal Express was born.

Erik JonesWhile his Legacy Motor Club teammate Noah Gragson will honor co-owner Jimmie Johnson, Jones will honor one of the other co-owners in Richard Petty with this paint scheme that the King used for the 1968 season where he won 16 races and finished 3rd in the overall point standings.
Brad KeselowskiWhile listed as bringing back the original colors of sponsor Castrol GTX, Keselowski will be indirectly honoring NHRA legend John Force with this paint scheme that is reminiscent of the one Force used for many years.
Corey LaJoie
LaJoie will pay respects to his grandfather, Don, with this paint scheme that closely resembles the one Don used when he began his career racing at the Danbury Race Arena in Danbury, Connecticut where Don would win 58 feature races and five championships.
Kyle Larson
Like Chase Briscoe, Larson will honor Tony Stewart with a paint scheme that almost identical to the one Stewart used when he drove to victory in the 2009 Xfinity Series race at Daytona.
Logano's paint scheme will pay tribute to team owner Roger Penske with the paint scheme that was used by 1972 Indianapolis 500 champion Mark Donahue to victory in 1973 at Riverside International Raceway, the first NASCAR win for Penske.
Ryan NewmanIn his first race in 18 months, Newman will be driving with a paint scheme that closely resembles the one he had during his first Cup victory back in 2002 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Brennan Poole
Poole will honor Bobby Allison with this paint scheme that Allison used he drove for owner Bud Moore from 1978 through 1980 in which Allison won 13 races including the 1978 Daytona 500.
Ryan Preece
Another fatherly tribute as Ryan Preece will honor his dad, Jeff, with this paint scheme reminiscent of the one Jeff used when he drove Late Model cars in 1998.
Tyler Reddick
Reddick will be honoring the man who drove the previous driver of the #45 car in Kurt Busch with this paint scheme that is remiscent of the one Busch used for the 2003 Darlington spring race in which Busch lost to Ricky Craven in one of the greatest finishes in NASCAR history.
